Here is the latest information we have on running the current version of Aggression on a TapWave Zodiac.

Currently, Aggression has now become a lot more compatible with the Tapwave. We are still working on an official Tapwave version of Aggression which will incorporate Tapwave controls, etc, but in the mean time we are trying to get the current version of Aggression to work as much as possible.

Currently, the one major trick is how to get Aggression to run in wide screen 480x320 mode:

TRICK: Similar to the T3, Aggression needs to be launched from "portrait" mode instead of "landscape mode" or "wide mode". While the T3 has a rotation button to enter portrait mode, the Zodiac does not. BUT - if you have a third party launcher such as Z Launcher or Launcher X, you can use that Launcher to rotate into portrait mode (long, not wide) and then launch Aggression. Both the Cinema and HiRes versions of the current version of Aggression seem to succesfully run on the Zodiac in this way.

UPDATE - DON'T USE A THIRD PARTY LAUNCHER? No problem!

If you just use the normal Zodiac Launcher, by updating to ROM vs 1.1 (see next point), there is a new feature that can allow you to run Aggression from portrait mode. The problems is that when you go back to the standard Zodiac launcher screen, it's always in landscape mode. But now, with the 1.1 ROM update, you can assign HOT KEYS to programs, which allows you to instantly jump to them. So all you need to do is assign Aggression to a hot key. Then launch any of the built in apps (like memo pad), since all of them let you rotate to portrait mode. Once you are in portrait mode in one of those applications, just hit the Aggression hot key, and Aggression will pop up oriented the correct way! (Sorry - this is obviously a work around - we hope to have care-free compatibility real soon...)

SOLVED - THE JUMP TO MENU BUG!...

**** April 2004 - BIG COMPATIBILITY UPDATE! *****

Many tapwave users found that when playing Aggression in 480x320 mode, they got a truly annoying bug in which the game kept jumping back to the main menu. It looks like the cause and cure of this bug is now known!

It turned out that Tapwave had major problems with their analog controller calibration, causing it to continually output streams of random vertical movements, which caused all kinds of issues with different programs, and with Aggression led to the "jump to menu" problem when in widescreen mode...

The good news is that Tapwave has just released a major ROM update that fixes this controller issue. So far, everyone who has installed it reported that it solved the jump to menu issue. Just go to the Tapwave website and download the Zodiac ROM version 1,1 for free.
